Brookdale Senior Living Enhances Optimum Life; Teams Up with Walgreens on Wellness Bus Tour

Brookdale Senior Living, the largest owner and operator of senior living communities, has teamed up with Walgreens, one of the largest pharmacy and drugstore providers in the United States, to bring the AARP/Walgreens Wellness Tour bus to enhance its Optimum Life culture.
Optimum Life® is exclusive to Brookdale Senior living communities, and is a lifestyle where whole person wellness is achieved through fulfillment in six key dimensions of wellness - physical, emotional, purposeful, social, spiritual, and intellectual.
"Brookdale’s number one priority is the well-being of its residents and employees," said Sara Terry, vice president of Optimum Life® for Brookdale. "The goal and accessibility of the AARP/Walgreens Wellness Tour bus aligns with our company mission of enriching lives, and our commitment to living an Optimum Life."
The bus will offer free health screenings and education. Health screenings provide a meaningful way to make lifestyle changes to positively impact one’s well-being. Available screenings include:
- Total cholesterol levels
- Blood pressure
- Bone density
- Glucose levels
- Waist circumference
- Body mass index
"Education and individual test results allows them to proactively tailor a wellness plan for their specific needs," said Terry. "This partnership allows us both to give our residents and staff opportunities to learn more about how they can embrace the physical dimension to live their Optimum Life."
Select Brookdale communities will host the screenings in the beginning of September and December in Colorado and Texas, and include:
- Wednesday, Sept. 2 at Heritage Club Mt. View, 8101 East Mississippi Ave. in Denver.
- Thursday, Sept. 3 at Heritage Club Aurora, 1860 South Potomac St. in Aurora, Colo.
- Friday, Sept. 4 at Oakhurst Towers, 8030 E. Girard Ave. in Denver.
- Tuesday, Dec. 1 at Town Village Ridgmar, 2151 Green Oaks Rd. in Fort Worth, Texas.
- Wednesday, Dec. 2 at Sterling House Richland Hills, 7520 A Glenview Dr. in Richland Hills, Texas.
- Thursday, Dec. 3 at Broadway Plaza Pecan Park, 915 North Fielder Rd. in Arlington, Texas.
- Friday, Dec. 4 at Broadway Plaza at Cityview, 5301 Bryant Irvin Rd. in Fort Worth, Texas.
- Tuesday, Dec. 8 at Chambrel at Club Hill, 1245 Colonel Dr. in Garland, Texas.
- Wednesday, Dec. 9 at Town Village North Dallas, 12771 Coit Rd. in Dallas, Texas.
