Sandy Ladd of Wilora Lake Lodge, a Brookdale Senior Living independent and assisted living community in Charlotte, N.C., has been honored with a Hero Award by the North Carolina Assisted Living Association (NCALA). She was chosen from nearly 25 applicants.
Ladd began at Wilora Lake Lodge as an administrative assistant 10 years ago, and quickly moved up the ranks to her current position, assistant assisted living administrator. She has spent her entire adult life giving selflessly to others. She began her journey is the senior living industry after one of her relatives suffered a fall and required rehabilitation at a skilled nursing facility. The need for protection and advocacy for seniors became obvious to her at this time, and Ladd took this calling. Ten years later, she passionately maintains her commitment, compassion, and advocacy for the care of seniors.
"She’s a very special lady, and is truly deserving of this award in every way," said Tracey Sloop, co-executive director of Wilora Lake Lodge. "We are very proud of Sandy, and thankful she’s a part of our team."
