Jean Redding of Abingdon Place Gastonia, a Brookdale Senior Living assisted living community in Gastonia, N.C., has been chosen Caregiver of the Year by the North Carolina Assisted Living Association (NCALA).
NCALA called for nominations of hands-on caregivers in the assisted living sector. In nominating Redding, Paula Glover, the area director said, Jean exemplifies the words compassion, respect, excellence, and integrity in everything she does for her residents, their families, and her co-workers."
Redding has been a resident associate at Abingdon Place Gastonia for 11 years. In her nomination letter, Glover says of Redding, "What makes her special is her genuine concern and respect for the residents."
NCALA oversees the operations and legislation for all assisted living communities in North Carolina.
