Maria Malone, an 83 year old resident of The Cumberland at Green Hills in Nashville, is an amazingly talented woman who learned to play the piano at age 5 in Brazil. She was later discovered by a music conservatory that wanted to nurture her talent, however family and life obligations became her main focus.
She never lost her love for the piano though. Maria continued to play for pleasure throughout her life, and her Wish of a Lifetime was to play the piano in a Grand Music Hall.
On October 26, 2011, Maria's Wish came true when she played for a crowd of over 100 people at Turner Recital Hall at Vanderbilt University in Nashville, TN. Maria's incredible talent showed, as she did not miss a beat on stage!
After her show Maria said, "It's just incredible. I never dreamed that somebody would do something that nice for me. It has been fascinating, and I know I'm not going to be able to sleep tonight!"
