As a young child, Sarah Farber, 88, of The Pointe at Newport Place in Boynton Beach, FL, remembers walking by circus posters and wanting nothing more than to be able to ride an elephant.
Now she knows that her health might not allow this to happen, but she has the dream of being able to attend the circus again. As a young girl, attending the circus always meant happy memories and fun with her family, something she finds herself missing a lot lately. Since attending with her family in the 1960s, finances have made it difficult for Sarah to attend another.
In her community, Sarah is extremely outgoing and has been deemed the "resident ambassador" by many. She is always one of the first people to greet new residents with hugs. She is dedicated to making all new residents feel welcome and attends as many events as she can. A recent health set-back has put her in a wheelchair, which has been very hard on her spirits. She is not able to be as involved as she would like to be, and a chance to attend the circus would bring great joy to her. She is truly a passionate and deserving woman who says she would be honored to think that someone would even consider her for something like this.
At 2 PM on December 20th, Jeremy Bloom's Wish of a Lifetime presented Sarah with her Wish of a Lifetime at a special Wish Granting Ceremony at The Pointe at Newport Place! The afternoon began with a wildlife educational presentation by the Busch Wildlife Sanctuary of Jupiter, FL. At the end of the presentation, Activities Coordinator, Nancy Venezia stood in front of the crowd and presented Sarah with tickets to the circus! The whole afternoon was focused around making Sarah's Wish come true and the residents enjoyed cake following this presentation. On Thursday, December 29th at 1:30 PM, Sarah attended the Ringling Brothers Circus in West Palm Beach, Florida at the Palm Beach County Convention Center with a friend from her community.
