Dr. Kevin W. O’Neil, MD, FACP is the Chief Medical Officer for Brookdale Senior Living®, the nation’s largest provider of senior living housing and related services. The highly acclaimed geriatrician has served Brookdale and its 53,000 residents in this capacity since 2006.
As Chief Medical Officer, Dr. O’Neil oversees and provides professional evaluation for Brookdale’s Optimum Life® culture, a bold initiative that defines the way we live. By balancing six key dimensions of wellness – emotional, intellectual, physical, social, spiritual and purposeful – Optimum Life will seniors live at their peak level, and within a lifestyle that promotes health, wholeness and fulfillment.
Dr. O’Neil practiced and taught geriatric medicine for more than 27 years. A graduate of Boston College and Georgetown University School of Medicine, he completed his internship in Internal Medicine at theWashington Hospital Center and his residency at the University of Massachusetts Medical Center.
Previously he was an assistant professor of medicine at the UMass Medical Center and is currently a clinical Professor in the Department of Aging and Mental Health at the University of South Florida.
Dr. O’Neil is certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine in both Internal Medicine and Geriatric Medicine. He is a Fellow of the American College of Physicians and is a member of the American Geriatrics Society.
He has been awarded a CMD (Certified Medical Director) from the American Medical Directors Association. Dr. O’Neil is co-editor and a contributing writer to
